Dr. Maartje Hilte gifted sewing machines to the institute for the deaf and blind to celebrate her promotion. The deaf seamstresses have been using them since 2012 to make, amongst other things, bags and school uniforms.
Fish farms on Sumba
We made an Ikan Lele farm on Sumba. It consisted of 4 tanks. The fish died, but this project is being revitalised for the malaria project because the fish can eat the mosquito larvae.
Uniforms for SD Wee Londa, Sumba
Transfair made it possible to supply over 200 children with 2 school uniforms each (including shoes, hat, and tie). We also supplied 200 backpacks filled with school supplies.
Well in Wae Codi, Flores
The Transfair Foundation created a well in this village in 2010. Solar cells gather enough power to drive a pump for four hours a day. The water is then distributed to each of 7 taps in the village or one of the bathing areas.
Motorambulance op Flores
Transfair gathered money in order to provide a hopsital and a leprosy clinic with a motorcycle ambulance. It is used to bring patients from remote areas to the hospital.
Transfer Solutions created software for microcredit distribution. This has been completed and given to a farmer’s cooperative bank that was founded for this purpose.
